Baptism Invitation Templates – 10 Free Sample Templates

Baptism is a very important ritual as it is considered to be the basis for the Christian religion. People invite their friends and family on the event of their children’s baptism where sometimes only close acquaintances are invited and at other times the event is arranged on a bigger scale. Like all other events, the arrangements of baptism require great efforts and one of these efforts is inviting the guests. Baptism is not like other fun parties that we attend every here and there but it is a serious and sacred event therefore its invitation should complement the function. A baptism invitation should neither be very plain nor very bright.

Appearance: it should be made up of cute and sacred images with soft colors. Ideally and customarily, a baptism invitation shall be made up of the picture of your baby, some nice borders, a watermark maybe and the text related to details about the event. Furthermore, it should neither be too large nor too small but of a normal card size and nice-to-handle, soft quality paper. You should use light colors for the background such as pink, yellow or sky blue and it is a good idea to add the picture of your baby in semi-transparent form in the background instead of adding it beside, on top of or below the text. Nevertheless, it is your choice at the end and no hard and fast rule regarding the images, colors, formatting or anything else. The text color should go with other colors present in the card and should be clearly visible whether it is formatted in bold, italic or any font style.

The text: although the importance of beautiful manifestation can never be overlooked, the information mentioned in an invitation card is its most important part. It should convey all the information about the party necessary to make the guest able to anticipate something about the event. Specifically, a baptism invitation should contain the following fields:

The ‘to’ field- Mention full name of the person who is invited and the words ‘and family’ if he is invited with family, or the words ‘Mr. and Mrs.…’ if a couple is invited. It is important to mention full names in order to maintain formality and also to avoid confusions.

The ‘from’ field – this field comes either in the end or at the top, e.g. ‘Mr. and Mrs. xxx invite you to the baptism of their son yyy’. The significance of this field is to ensure that the reader knows who exactly is inviting him in order to create atmosphere of affection leading them to attend the baptism, or maybe otherwise!

Name of the child – since the event is for the child mainly, his name should be mentioned. This shall be a way of introducing your child to many people who do not know him yet.

Venue – state your contact number and the address of the place where the baptism is going to take place clearly and well in detail so as to make it convenient for your guests to arrive in time and without getting annoyed!
